Kaloma is a not-for-profit facility which is owned and run by the community for the community. Every cent received goes into making the lives of our fifty residents as comfortable, peaceful and enjoyable as possible. We try very hard to go the extra mile with an excellent standard of care and service, tasty and nutritional food, lots of entertainment and activities, and understanding and compassion for those in our care.

Our main sources of income are Australian government subsidies and care fees payed by residents. However, community donations are also very important. As you can see we have a ‘donate with PayPal’ feature which is easy to use. We have an active Fundraising Committee who run events such as the annual Charity Golf Day and Melbourne Cup Garden Party. We apply for grants from organisations like the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal. Generous donations from individuals and businesses are also most welcome. For instance, an anonymous  donation of $50,000 was received in May 2015 and $300,000 in June 2015. Amazing generosity which enables us to build more beds to better meet the ever increasing need by our community for more residential places at Kaloma.

Some people like to make one-off donations as their circumstances permit, while others of us are comfortable with regular contributions. Sometimes people say that they are happy to forego one cup of coffee and give Kaloma $5 per week or $25 per month. For others it may be the value of a bottle of wine or a takeaway meal. Whatever is chosen, every donation, no matter how big or how small, is gratefully received and used 100% for the benefit of our residents.  The PayPal feature is excellent for setting up regular donations irrespective of how big or small.
